Striped top – H&M
Culottes – SPAO
Wedges – Shoopen
One of the biggest problems I have when it comes to daily living, is picking what to wear for work. But I think the key to solving this problem is to keep things simple. Minimal makeup is a great way to start off the day because it is essentially fuss-free. And you should always pick out your outfit the night before and lay it out. Picking what to wear in the morning can be really stressful, especially when you’re in a hurry. Trust me. This little trick does wonders, and I’m sure many of you can vouch for me because this is one of the oldest tricks in the book.
To start off, pants. I move around a lot so I often prefer pants over skirts and dresses. Don’t get me wrong, slacks are great but sometimes you may feel that your movements are being restricted. This is where culottes come in! Cullotes can be very work-friendly if you find the right pair – a suitable material, a good cut and the correct shade. I found this pair of black culottes in SPAO, a Korean fashion brand.
I matched a simple stripe top for a splash of colour and threw on my trusty ol’ wedged sandals from Shoopen. I love this H&M top so much because it’s very light and airy, yet formal enough for work. The slit at the back gives it a bit of character and fun – a little detailing goes a long way! And there is no need to explain the shoes because everyone knows that I am in love with them for being the most comfortable pair of heels I’ve ever owned. HAHA!
Now, I’m ready to conquer the world – or rather, my keyboard because that’s what I do at work. I write.
Here’s to spanking great first day of work in the new year!
May the traffic be always in your favour (and mine).
